Skication Day 4: Moonlight Basin

My Bozeman friends definitely had no idea what was in store when the night began. Then the drunken shenanigans began, and it was stupid entertaining to say the least. It also made getting up this morning much more difficult. Needless to say it was another late on-snow day, but we still got to skiing before noon.
The snow was crusty but edgeable like Big Sky was, so it was a good time. No wind today and warmer than yesterday, but flatter lighting. You can't have it all I guess. Ripped a couple of groomers and hit up my favorite glade runs with my dad after lunch while the guys went back up to the Headwaters and then lapped the Lone Tree Quad. Earlier Jeremy, my dad, and I went up to Headwaters and hit up Cold Springs; sketchiest traverse EVER. Even worse than the traverse to Marx at Big Sky, but once the run opened up it was choice. Not super soft, but not nearly as crusty as I'd imagined and there was enough snow to push around to make it fun. Sometimes steeps are just too fun. It was the farthest I'd ever gone over on the Headwaters too, so that was a blast.

It was definitely a mellow day, but super fun. Swapped skis with my dad so I got to ride the Armada TSTs; pretty sweet surfy ski if I do say so myself. Other bonus was stoppng at the Lone Peak Brewery Taphouse for a glass of Bourbon Stout: delicious! Seriously, grab one if you're in Big Sky. It'll be worth it.

One last night of drunken revelry in Bozeman then back to Salt Lake to rest and then ski the Bird. Dang it. . .
